|US Route 1 Paving Project in Seabrook-Hampton Falls-Hampton
3.4 Miles of Resurfacing and Rehabilitation of Two Bridges
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the beginning of paving work, bridge rehabilitations, and guardrail upgrades along US Route 1 in Seabrook, Hampton Falls, and Hampton.
This project extends from mile marker 1.8 (approximately 450 feet north of Rocks Road in Seabrook) north 3.4 miles to mile marker 5.2 (southern limits of the Hampton Urban Compact), including all ramps of the US1/NH 101 interchanges.
Two bridges will also be rehabilitated: US Route 1 over the Hampton Falls River in Hampton Falls and US Route 1 over the Taylor River in Hampton.
Guardrail will be replaced as needed throughout the project area. Included in the guardrail work is the replacement of cable guardrail along NH Route 101.
Daily shoulder closures and lane closures during off-peak hours will be utilized to complete this work. Traffic shifts will also be used to perform the bridge deck rehabilitation work. Most of the paving work will be done at night. Ramp work will also be done at night with short-term closures and detours.
Brox Industries, Inc. of Dracut, Massachusetts is the contractor for the $3 million project, which has a final completion date of October 20, 2017.
