Night Traffic Shift at I-93 Southbound in Salem
Traffic Realignment to New Temporary Bridge at Exit 2

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces night work associated with the construction of the new I-93 Exit 2 Interchange in Salem.

Weather permitting; temporary realignment of Interstate 93 southbound will take place on the night of Thursday, November 7, 2013. This work will occur during non-commuter hours, from approximately 7:00 pm to 5:00 am. Upon completion of paint striping operations, southbound traffic will be realigned to a new temporary bridge. Motorists using the Exit 2 southbound off-ramp will have a new off-ramp location further to the north of the existing location.

Construction operations will require traffic on Interstate 93 southbound to be reduced to one lane. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

This work is part of the $41 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 2. The general contractor is George R. Cairns & Sons, Inc. of Windham, New Hampshire.
