Portsmouth Lift Bridge Inspection Will Affect Traffic
Sarah Long Bridge Carrying US 1 Bypass To Kittery, ME

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces a full structural inspection at the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in Portsmouth is scheduled to begin Monday, October 28, 2013.

This bridge carries US Route 1 Bypass over the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine.

The Sarah Long Bridge will have lane closures as needed and as weather permits from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm daily for up to eleven weekdays.

Flag persons, electronic message signs, and warning signs will be used to notify motorists of the lane closures. Motorists traveling between Portsmouth and Kittery are asked to use alternate routes if possible to avoid delays.

In the event of adverse weather, the inspection work may be delayed until the next suitable workday.
