|Repair Work on Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge
Daytime Alternating Traffic for Eight Weeks
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces repair work is planned on the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge, which carries Cornish Toll Bridge Road over the Connecticut River from New Hampshire to Vermont.
Beginning the week of September 9, 2013, this bridge pier work will require single lane traffic from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm controlled by temporary signals for up to eight weeks. The travel width will be restricted to ten feet during these time periods. Motorists using the bridge during these times can expect delays.
The 449-foot long wooden covered bridge was originally built in 1866 and was rebuilt in 1989.
