No Stopping in New Hooksett Open Road Tolling Lanes

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation reminds motorists passing through the Hooksett Toll Plaza that there is no stopping in the newly opened Open Road Tolling (ORT) lanes.

"Traffic is moving smoothly through the new ORT lanes at highway speeds of up to 65 miles per hour," says NHDOT Turnpikes Administrator Chris Waszczuk. "Stopping or slowing down for any reason in those lanes is potentially a serious safety issue and is highly discouraged."

The new ORT lanes, designated by signs at the far left lanes for both northbound and southbound vehicles, are for E-ZPass users only. Motorists who are not E-ZPass customers who mistakenly enter the ORT lanes should proceed through the plaza without stopping. They will receive a notice to pay the toll plus a $1 processing fee.
