Newington-Dover Public Informational Meeting
Spaulding Turnpike Project From North Of Exit 1 To Dover Tolls

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a combined Public Officials/Public Informational Meeting has been scheduled to provide an update on the overall status of design and the construction for the widening of the 3.5 mile section of the Spaulding Turnpike (NH Route 16), beginning north of Exit 1 in Newington running northerly to Dover Toll Plaza, located just north of Exit 6 (US Route 4) in Dover.

At this public meeting, the NHDOT will provide a progress update on construction of the Spaulding Turnpike bridge over the Little Bay, and a review of the construction segment for the Spaulding Turnpike approach reconstruction in the Town of Newington. In addition, the Department will review the design layout for the remaining project improvements in the City of Dover, including the design and placement of soundwalls.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Dover City Hall Auditorium, 288 Central Avenue, Dover, NH, at 7:00 PM.

The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project and to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.
