| New Section Of I-93 Northbound To Open In Salem
One-Mile Segment Located Between Exits 1 And 2 The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the planned opening of a new one-mile section of Interstate 93 northbound, located north of the Exit 1 off-ramp in Salem, will take place early on Friday, November 16, 2012. Due to traffic volumes, the shift to the new section of highway will be completed at night with traffic restricted to one lane. Work hours are anticipated to begin at 7:00 pm on Thursday night (11/15) and will be completed by 6:00 am Friday morning (11/16). This work is weather dependent. The Exit 1 northbound off-ramp to Rockingham Park Boulevard will remain unchanged. Uniformed officers and traffic control devices will be used to assist motorists through the work zone. This work is part of the $30.5 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in vicinity of Exit 1. The general contractor is Middlesex Corporation of Littleton, Massachusetts. |
