| Blasting at Newington-Dover Project on Spaulding Turnpike
Near Exit 3 as Part of the Turnpike Expanision Project The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces rock blasting is scheduled to begin this week in the area of Aboretum Drive within the Pease International Tradeport in Newington. This work is near the new Exit 3 construction for the Turnpike expansion project. Blasting will take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, for approximately two weeks. Warning signs and audible signals will be used to warn the public of the blast. The warning signals will be: three whistles – five minutes to blast; two whistles - one minute to blast; and one whistle – all clear indicating the blasting is over. Vibration monitoring will be used to ensure the blasts will be within allowable limits. Pedestrian and vehicle traffic on Aboretum Drive will be controlled by flaggers and local police as needed. The blasting contractor is Capital Rock of New Boston, New Hampshire. The prime contractor for the project is A. J. Coleman and Sons, Inc. of Conway, New Hampshire. |
