| Spaulding Turnpike Improvements Begin In Newington-Dover
Widening Of 2.8 Mile Section From Exit 1 Past Exit 5 The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces construction work is beginning on the widening of a 2.8 mile section of the Spaulding Turnpike in Newington-Dover. This project starts at Exit 1 (Gosling Road) in Newington and extends north past Exit 5 northbound (Hilton Park/Wentworth Terrace) in Dover. It includes a new full interchange at Exit 3 (Woodbury Avenue) with a new bridge over the Spaulding Turnpike carrying the Exit 3 traffic and connecting to Arboretum Drive in the Pease Tradeport. Additionally, a test embankment site will be built near the Exit 6 southbound on-ramps from US Route 4 and Dover Point Road. Alvin J. Coleman and Sons, Inc. of Conway, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $43 million project, which has a completion date of July 2015. |
