The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces Squamscott Road in Stratham will be closed for five days to allow for the replacement of a culvert that conveys the tidal flow of Jewell Hill Brook.

This closure to through traffic will begin Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 700 am and continue until Squamscott Road's reopening on Monday, September 10 at 3:00 pm. Motorists seeking access to NH Route 33 will be detoured via Stratham Circle.

A 96-inch plastic pipe will replace the 66-inch corrugated metal culvert. Precast concrete headwalls and new beam guardrail are part of the $204,000 project. Pandelena Construction, of Hampstead, New Hampshire is the prime contractor.
