|New Traffic Pattern at the Hooksett Toll Plaza on I-93
Work on Turnpike Toll Plaza Will Require Lane Closures
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces a new traffic pattern at the Hooksett Toll Plaza on Interstate 93 (Everett Turnpike), effective on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
In order to accommodate new Open Road Tolling (ORT) lanes, two interior lanes on both the northbound and southbound sides will be closed at the Hooksett Plaza. Two new lanes have been constructed on the outside of the plaza and will open when the interior lanes close.
As motorists approach the Hooksett Toll Plaza, construction barrier will split the traffic. Signs will alert motorists to the traffic shift. These lane closures will be necessary until the end of October.
The project improvements include the toll plaza modifications to accommodate ORT infrastructure and collection equipment, rehabilitation of the existing toll plaza, highway widening and interchange improvements, and the rehabilitation of three bridges over Cross Road, Hackett Hill Road and ramps.
R.S. Audley, Inc. of Bow, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $22.9 million project, which has a final completion date of October 2013.
