| Work Hours Extended at Newington-Dover Bridge Project
To Facilitate Construction of New Little Bay Bridge The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the planned extension of work hours to help facilitate the completion of the Little Bay Bridge project on the Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16) in Newington-Dover. Beginning Monday, July 9, work hours at the bridge project will be from 6:00 am to Midnight, Monday through Friday. Saturday work will occur only as needed. No work is anticipated to take place on Sunday. The anticipated late shift work (4:00 pm to Midnight) is non-critical, set-up work that is geared towards maximizing the efficiency of the day shift. High noise activities are not anticipated during the late shift. This schedule is expected to be in place until the end of 2012. The Phase 2 portion of this project will construct the westerly half of the new Little Bay Bridge. Phase 1, which is constructing the easterly half of the bridge, is near completion. Cianbro Corporation of Pittsfield, Maine is the general contractor for the $50.3 million project. Visit http://www.newington-dover.com. |
