NH Route 123 Road Closure for Box Culvert Installation Detour in Effect Using NH Route 123A Until August The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the closure of a section of NH Route 123 in Alstead to allow for the installation of a box culvert that will carry Warren Brook under NH 123. The closure of a three-quarter mile section of NH 123 is in effect as of today (6/12/12), and is expected to continue until August. Motorists seeking to use NH 123 in this vicinity will be detoured via NH 10 and NH 123A. This project, which addresses prior flood damage to NH 123, consists of construction of a new bridge, two box culverts, a retaining wall, drainage work, roadway realignment, and guardrail improvements. Weaver Brothers Construction Co., Inc. of Bow, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $4.8 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2013.
