| Ramp Closure Extended at Exit 8 of I-93 in Manchester
To Allow for Bridge Joint Work Near Stevens Pond The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces that due to unforeseen concrete repairs to several bridges on Interstate 93 in Manchester in the Stevens Pond area, the Exit 8 southbound on-ramp will be closed for three weeks longer than anticipated, with a reopening scheduled on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Detour signs are in place to direct traffic to use the Exit 8 northbound on-ramp to Exit 9S (south) and then reverse direction. Also, motorists should expect daytime closures of the Exit 8 northbound on-ramp and off-ramp during the five-week period from June 18 to July 23. Message boards will alert motorist of the closures and detours will be in place. Pike Industries, Inc. of Belmont, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $6.2 million roadway and bridge rehabilitation project, which has a final completion date of September 28, 2012. |
