Night Road Closure on NH Route 38 (Lowell Rd) in Salem Demolition of Existing I-93 Northbound Bridge The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the pending demolition of the I-93 northbound bridge over NH Route 38 (Lowell Road) in Salem. This work will require Lowell Road to be closed to through traffic between Stiles Road and South Policy Street in Salem on the following nights: 9:00 pm Monday May 7th through 5:00 am Tuesday May 8th 9:00 pm Tuesday May 8th through 5:00 am Wednesday May 9th 9:00 pm Wednesday May 9th through 5:00 am Thursday May 10th Motorists using Lowell Road during these hours will be detoured along Stiles Road, Pelham Road and South Policy Street. Additional one way alternating traffic on this stretch of roadway is expected from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm with some delays. The area will remain accessible to local residents and businesses. Uniformed officers and traffic control devices will be used to slow, direct, and assist motorists around the work zone. This work is part of the $30.5 million I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 1. The general contractor is Middlesex Corporation of Littleton, Massachusetts.
