|Soundwall Construction To Begin On I-95 In Portsmouth
West Side Of Approach Spans To High Level Bridge
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces work is scheduled to begin this week on the installation of a bridge-mounted soundwall on the westerly side of the approach spans of the southbound lanes of the Interstate 95 bridge over the Piscataqua River in Portmouth.
This soundwall next to the Atlantic Heights neighborhood and mounted on concrete barrier will be approximately 2,000 feet long and 12-feet high.
Work on the project is beginning this week along the I-95 southbound shoulder. Limited lane closures are anticipated. Daytime and limited night work is anticipated. This project will continue through the summer and fall of 2012, with a final completion date of June 2013.
R.M. Piper, Inc. of Plymouth, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $2.7 million project.
