Honor System Expanded At Exit 12 Tolls In Merrimack Facility Will Not Be Staffed On Weekends And Holidays The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the planned extension of “honor system” hours at the Exit 12 (Bedford Road) Toll Plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack. Effective Friday, January 6, the Exit 12 Tolls will not be staffed on weekends and holidays, in addition to the current honor system hours of 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. During these hours, cash paying customers who do not have the exact change in toll fare may pick up a pre-printed envelope in the automatic coin machine lane to be used to mail in the toll fare. These changes at Exit 12 are expected to improve the efficiency of toll collection operations during hours when traffic is minimal. Toll attendants working these hours will be reassigned to other shifts or nearby toll facilities.
