Saco Covered Bridge In Conway To Close For Repairs Nine Week Closure For East Side Road Bridge Over Saco River The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the planned closure of the Saco Covered Bridge on East Side Road over the Saco River in Conway on Monday, October 31, for repairs. This work by a NHDOT Bridge Maintenance crew involving replacement of the timber deck is expected take nine weeks to complete, with the bridge reopening to traffic on or about January 3, 2012. Motorists should seek alternative routes during the closure period. The Saco Covered Bridge was built in 1890 and rebuilt in 1989.
