| South Road Box Culvert Replacement In Londonderry
Traffic Will Be Detoured For Four Weeks The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces work is scheduled on South Road in Londonderry on the replacement of an existing 36-inch drainage culvert with an eight-foot wide by five-foot, six-inch high concrete box culvert. This project is located approximately 3,500 feet west of the Gilcrest Road/South Road intersection. Additionally, an 800 linear foot segment of South Road will be reconstructed to accommodate the replacement structure. These improvements will help alleviate the frequent flooding of South Road, and will provide improved wildlife connectivity through this corridor. This work will require traffic on South Road to be detoured. This road closure will take place from Monday, July 18, through August 12, 2011. Minor traffic delays and detours can be expected. This work is part of the construction of four new I-93 Exit 5 bridges, NH Route 28 reconstruction, and I-93 reconstruction in the Exit 5 area. Severino Trucking. Co., Inc. of Candia, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $37 million project, which is scheduled for completion in June of 2014. |
