| Blasting Work On I-93 Between Exit 1 And State Line In Salem
Rolling Road Blocks And Brief Traffic Stops Necessary The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces ledge blasting work requiring rolling roadblocks and brief traffic stops on Interstate 93 and the Exit 1 ramps between Exit 2 and the Massachusetts state line in Salem is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 and continue for approximately two to three weeks. These delays will occur between 10:00 am and 2:30 pm. Motorists using I-93 northbound and southbound in the area of Exit 1 in Salem during these blasting operations can expect slow moving (5 MPH) traffic and delays of up to 15 minutes. Motorists using the Exit 1 southbound on-ramp can expect traffic to be stopped during the blasting operations for up to 15 minutes. Uniformed officers and traffic control devices will be used to slow, direct, and assist motorists through the work zone. This work is part of the $30.5 million I-93 mainline widening and reconstruction project in vicinity of Exit 1. The general contractor is Middlesex Corporation of Littleton, Massachusetts. |
