| New Ridesharing Options Are Available On-Line
Finding Carpool Partners In NH Made Easier New software and an interactive website will enhance NH Rideshare's services to the traveling public, according to an announcement from the Department of Transportation. The free ride matching service has been upgraded and now provides instant ride match lists, transit information, and information on rides to special events. NH Rideshare is also now working in partnership with the States of Vermont and Maine to offer a combined tri-state rideshare database. This means that anyone who crosses state borders for their commute or other travels can register in any one of the state's rideshare programs and have a better chance of receiving matches. According to NH Rideshare Coordinator Joan Clinton, "High gas prices this spring have resulted in a 25% increase in ride match registrations. With an increased interest in ridesharing, and the enhanced services of our new system, it is easier than ever to find someone to commute with." Visit www.rideshare.nh.gov today to explore your transportation alternatives. NH Rideshare is a complimentary service of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation that assists commuters and employers with finding and using alternative modes of transportation. The software provides tracking and calculation tools so that carpoolers, transit riders, vanpoolers, bicyclists and people who walk to work can report and calculate their approximate fuel, maintenance and pollution savings. |
