Bridge Work On NH Route 1B In New Castle-Portsmouth Painting And Steel Repairs To Two Bridges Over Piscataqua Estuary The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces work is getting underway on painting and structural steel repairs to two bridges on NH Route 1B in New Castle and Portsmouth over Piscataqua Estuary. This work will require lane closures and alternating one-way traffic controlled by temporary signals. Tri-State Painting, Inc. of Tilton, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $2.7 million contract, which has a final completion date of October 28, 2011.
