To Discuss Replacement Options For The Memorial Bridge
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a Public Informational Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in Portsmouth to discuss bridge replacement options for the Memorial Bridge carrying U.S. Route 1 over the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine.
This project also includes the replacement of the approach bridge on the New Hampshire side carrying U.S. Route 1 (Scott Avenue) over Daniel Street, and the rehabilitation of the approach bridge (Kittery approach spans) on the Maine side, carrying U.S. Route 1 over the Piscataqua River.
This November 23 meeting is being held to discuss the project and to gather input from officials and the public. It will take place at 6:00 pm at Portsmouth City Hall, Eileen Dondero Foley Council Chambers, 1 Junkins Avenue, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, the NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.
This project may have an effect on historic properties.
