| Portsmouth Lift Bridge Inspection Will Impact Traffic
Sarah Long Bridge Carrying U.S. 1 Bypass To Kittery, ME The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces a continuation of the six-month interim structural inspection at the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in Portsmouth is taking place from Monday, November 8, through Thursday, November 18. This bridge carries U.S. Route 1 Bypass over the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine. The bridge will have lane closures as needed and as weather permits through Thursday, November 18, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm daily, except for Thursday November 11, due to the observance of Veteran's Day. Flag persons, electronic message signs, and warning signs will be used to notify motorists of the lane closure. Motorists traveling between Portsmouth and Kittery are asked to use alternate routes if possible to avoid delays. In the event of adverse weather, the inspection work may be delayed until the next suitable workday |
