Bi-State Bridge Funding Task Forces To Hold First Meeting Focus On The Future Of Three Piscataqua River Bridges The Bi-State Bridge Funding Task Forces established by Executive Orders of the Governors of New Hampshire and Maine will hold their first joint meeting on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Maine Turnpike Authority Office in Portland, Maine. New Hampshire Governor John Lynch and Maine Governor John Baldacci signed the Executive Orders in Portsmouth on October 5, 2010. The duties of the task forces are to: a. Identify mechanisms that would allow the two states to jointly identify and maximize funding for the replacement, rehabilitation, repair, maintenance, and operation of the three bridges; b. Identify methods to jointly structure financing for the replacement of Memorial Bridge, the replacement or rehabilitation of Sarah Mildred Long Bridge and the repair of the High Level Bridge; c. Propose such legislation that may be necessary in each state to facilitate the funding structure and other contractual authority for state agencies or authorities consistent with each state's laws; and d. Deliver a report to the Governors of the States of New Hampshire and Maine no later than December 15, 2010 with the proposals and recommended legislation. The October 18 Public Meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM. The Maine Turnpike Authority Office is located at 2360 Congress Street in Portland, Maine.
