New Castle – Portsmouth Public Informational Meeting Rehabilitation Of Two Bridges Over Piscataqua Estuary The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a combined Public Informational/Officials Meeting will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 to discuss the planned rehabilitation of a New Castle bridge and a Portsmouth bridge that both cross over Piscataqua Estuary. This bridge rehabilitation work will include repairs to the bridge piers and repainting of both bridges' structural steel. The September 2nd public meeting will be held at the Portsmouth City Hall, Council Chambers, located at 1 Junkins Avenue in Portsmouth, beginning at 6:00 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project, and to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, the NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.
