Bridge Replacement Project to Begin in New Ipswich Smithville Road Over West Branch of Souhegan River The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the planned replacement of the Smithville Road Bridge over the West Branch of the Souhegan River in New Ipswich is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 16, 2010. This bridge replacement project is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete and will require the complete closure of the bridge to all traffic during this time period. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes. The NHDOT's Bridge Maintenance Bureau is performing this work.
