Corbin Road To Be Temporarily Closed In Newport Due To Routine Maintenance On The Corbin Covered Bridge The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces Corbin Road in Newport will be closed to through traffic from 7:00 AM on Thursday, August 5 until 7:00 PM on Friday, August 6, 2010 to allow for routine maintenance on the Corbin Covered Bridge. Crews from the Town of Newport will be applying fire retardant on the covered bridge and performing other minor repairs. A signed detour along Oak Street will be in effect while the bridge is closed.
