The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces a single-day closure of Main Street in the area of Shaker Bridge in Enfield will occur on Thursday, June 24, 2010.

The road closure will extend from NH Route 4A to Bridge Street on the north shore of Mascoma Lake. The work is scheduled to take place between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Motorists are advised to drive carefully as they approach the work area and to seek an alternate route around the closure.

This road closure is necessary to allow for the connection of the new sewer force main being constructed under Mascoma Lake to the existing wastewater system. The force main is being relocated away from Shaker Bridge to prevent disruption of Enfield's sewer service during replacement of Shaker Bridge over Mascoma Lake that is scheduled for 2011.

The work is being performed by Bore Tech LLC of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, under contract to the Town of Enfield.
