|Hampton-Seabrook NH 1A Bridge Shifting Traffic Pattern
Barrier Removal on Tuesday, May 18 Will Result in Delays
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the planned removal of concrete barrier from the NH Route 1A bridge over the Hampton River in Hampton-Seabrook will take place on Tuesday, May 18.
This barrier removal work will change the traffic pattern from one-way alternating traffic to two lanes of two-way traffic. After May 18 there will be daily lane closures from Monday through Friday, with switches back to one lane of alternating traffic during work hours.
Several delays are expected during the concrete barrier removal work between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Motorists are strongly advised to seek alternative routes on May 18 if possible. There will be no bridge openings during the barrier removal, which will affect boat traffic.
This project involves the replacement of the deck on the lift bridge and associated improvements. SPS New England, Inc. of Salisbury, Massachusetts is the contractor for the $6.7 million project.
