|Night Bridge Steel Work on I-89 Northbound at Exit 20 in Lebanon
Traffic Stoppages Necessary on NH 12A Overnight on May 13
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces nighttime bridge steel work is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Exit 20 interchange on Interstate 89 in Lebanon. This work will involve the setting of structural steel for the temporary widening of the I-89 northbound bridge over NH Route 12A.
Beginning at 11:00 PM for safety reasons, traffic flow under the bridge on NH 12A will be suspended for 15-minute intervals. During these periods, motorists traveling on Route 12A intending to cross under the I-89 bridge will have the option to either wait for 15 minutes or taking I-89 north or south to the nearest exits and returning to Exit 20 to get around the work. Emergency vehicles will be able travel through the underpass at all times.
This project includes the replacement of the I-89 bridges over NH Route 12A, the addition of twp lanes (from 5 to 7) on NH 12A at the Exit 20 interchange, and the construction of a new bridge connecting the Upper Valley shopping plaza with the Kmart shopping plaza.
This project is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. R.S. Audley, Inc. of Bow, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $20.3 million project, which has a final completion date of October 2012.
