|Steel Girder Work On Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16) Project
April 28-29 On Bridge Over Cocheco River In Rochester
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces the setting of structural steel girders on the Spaulding Turnpike bridge over the Cocheco River south of Exit 12 in Rochester is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Traffic on the Spaulding Turnpike will be shifted away from the center shoulder to give the contractor room to work and stage the girders. Signs and cones will direct the traffic through the lane shift. This will be a daytime operation only. Some delays should be expected when the girders are moved up the Turnpike to the bridge site.
This planned work is weather permitting. Message boards, and signs will alert traffic to the work zone, and uniformed Officers and flaggers will direct traffic as needed through the work areas.
S.U.R. Construction, of Rochester, New Hampshire is the prime contractor on the project. E.D. Swett Inc., of Concord, New Hampshire is constructing the bridges.
