Steel Girder Work On Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16) Project Beginning February 16 On The Exit 12 Bridge Over NH 125 The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the setting of structural steel girders on the Spaulding Turnpike northbound bridge over NH Route 125 at Exit 12 in Rochester is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, February 16 through Friday, February 19. This daytime work between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM will affect traffic on NH Route 125. Traffic on Route 125 at Exit 12 will be periodically stopped for up to ten minutes at a time to allow for a girder to be lifted overhead, set on the bridge abutments and secured into place. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays during this work. Use Exit 13 or Exit 11 off the Spaulding Turnpike to get into Rochester. Use Exit 13 and City streets to go into Gonic. (Rte 202 to Estes Rd. to Oak St to NH 125). Route 125 northbound traffic can use City streets to get into Rochester. (Route 125 to Oak Street to Estes Road. to Route 202 east.) NH 125 southbound traffic can use the Turnpike and Exit 13 to get around the work zone. This planned work is weather permitting. Message boards, and signs will alert traffic to the work zone, and uniformed Officers and flaggers will direct traffic as needed through the work areas. S.U.R. Construction, of Rochester, New Hampshire is the prime contractor on the project. E.D. Swett Inc., of Concord, New Hampshire is constructing the bridges.
