| Two New Tollbooths Opened At Hampton Tolls On I-95
Will Allow For Construction Of Open Road Tolling Project The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the completion and opening of two new tollbooths at the Hampton Tolls on Interstate 95. The two new booths and approaches (one northbound and one southbound) will be used to help maintain traffic throughput at the facility during the upcoming "Open Road Tolling" construction project. Continental Paving, Inc. of Londonderry, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $4.8 million project. "Continental Paving and its subcontractors have done an excellent job in aggressively meeting construction deadlines within a tight timeframe to allow for the Open Road Tolling construction project to proceed on schedule," says NHDOT Turnpikes Bureau Administrator Christopher Waszczuk. Open Road Tolling allows drivers who have E-ZPass to pay their toll electronically without slowing down to pass through a tollbooth. Hampton’s existing Toll Plaza will soon be modified to provide new open road E-ZPass lanes. The Hampton Plaza will still have attendant lanes for cash customers. Open Road Tolling is scheduled to begin at the Hampton Tolls on May 31, 2010. |
