BRIDGE DECK REPAIRS ON SARAH LONG BRIDGE IN PORTSMOUTH
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces bridge deck repairs will take place at the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge on U.S. Route 1 Bypass between Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME. The work will require single lane traffic and is scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 15, 2001. A New Hampshire Department of Transportation crew will restrict traffic on the bridge to a single 14-foot wide lane beginning Wednesday, August 15. The restriction is expected to be in place from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. each workday until Friday, August 24th, or until the work is complete. Plans are to use advanced warning signs, cones, and flag persons to guide vehicles through the work area. In the event of adverse weather, work may be delayed until the next suitable workday. Motorists traveling on U.S. Route 1 Bypass in Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME are asked to use caution while driving through the work zone, as workers and equipment will be present. Minor delays may be expected. Marine traffic will not be affected by the work.
