The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces work is scheduled to begin the week of July 23, 2001 in Ossipee on the rehabilitation of the Old NH Route 16 Bridge over Beech River.

This project is located approximately 600 yards south of the intersection of NH Route 25 and Old NH Route 16. Beginning July 23, it will require the closure of Old NH Route 16 in the vicinity of the bridge over Beech River to both vehicles and pedestrians until the project is completed in November of this year. A signed detour will be in place.

This project includes total replacement of the bridge deck, bridge abutment work, and some road and drainage improvements.

Hanson Construction, of New London, New Hampshire, is the contractor for the $462,000 project.
