WORK ON RAMP CONNECTOR IN NASHUA WILL REQUIRE LANE CLOSURE ON SOUTHBOUND F.E. EVERETT TURNPIKE The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces bridge repair work relating to the construction of two connector ramps between Exit 2 and Exit 1 of the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua will require a lane closure for approximately three weeks. Beginning the week of September 25, the southbound lane closure at Exit 2 will be in effect. During the lane closure two lanes of traffic will be maintained southbound. Motorists heading southbound on the Everett Turnpike can expect minor delays during the morning commuting hours. Also, the Everett Turnpike Exit 1 southbound off-ramp to Spit Brook Road will be closed in the near future for five days to allow for construction of the new ramp to Spit Brook Road. While the Exit 1 ramp is closed, motorists who normally use this exit are advised to use Exit 2 and proceed south on the Daniel Webster Highway to Spit Brook Road. Detour signs and message boards will be used while the ramp is closed. Motorists will be advised in advance of the exact dates of the ramp closure to help minimize any inconvenience. Audley Construction, Inc. of Bow, New Hampshire is the contractor for the $2.8 million project. The connector ramps are expected to be open to traffic by November 15. The final completion date for the project is July 1, 2001. |
