TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS ON NH ROUTE 9 (HIGH STREET) PROJECT IN SOMERSWORTH
LIMITATIONS ON ACCESS TO AND FROM STACKPOLE ROAD

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces work on the reconstruction of NH Route 9 (High Street) in Somersworth will require limitations on access to and from Stackpole Road.

Beginning the week of August 21, 2000, traffic headed from Somersworth to Dover on High Street (NH Route 9) will not be able to turn left onto Stackpole Road. Traffic on Stackpole Road will be allowed to turn right only, towards Somersworth, onto High Street. Left turns onto High Street will not be possible. These traffic restrictions are expected to last for approximately two weeks. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

These traffic restrictions are necessary to allow for the construction of a section of roadway that will allow for a traffic shift.

This project includes the reconstruction of NH Route 9 (High Street) from Kelwyn Drive to Sinclair Avenue, increasing the width of the road from three to five lanes with raised median islands at major intersections.

F.L. Merrill Construction Inc., of Pembroke, New Hampshire, is the contractor for the $3,414,000 project.
