PLANNING NEW HAMPSHIRE'S TRANSPORTATION FUTURE HEARINGS SCHEDULED ON TEN YEAR TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM Those interested in the transportation projects planned in New Hampshire over the next decade will soon have their opportunity to be heard. The Governor's Advisory Commission on Intermodal Transportation (GACIT) has scheduled 15 hearings throughout New Hampshire to allow the public to comment on a revised Ten Year Transportation Program. GACIT members include the five Executive Councilors and NHDOT Commissioner Leon Kenison. The hearings are being held in accordance with state law (RSA 228:99), which requires a periodic public review of the Transportation Program. At each of the public hearings, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation will present its recommended plan for the years 2001 to 2010. Following the hearings, GACIT will submit a final recommendation to Governor Jeanne Shaheen, who will submit her final recommendations to the New Hampshire legislature in January, 2000. During a one month period that begins September 27th, hearings are scheduled in Laconia, Conway, Lancaster, Haverhill, Derry, Salem, Claremont, Lebanon, Plymouth, Manchester, Rochester, Concord, Dover, Keene and Nashua.
