2009

August 28 Information about Statewide Drawings and the newly available Soil Maps has been added.
August 17 Introducing a Level Library and Rules files for the BOR (borings) drawing.
July 21 Keep your workstation lean and mean.  Periodic  PC Maintenance Is recommended for all workstations.
July 7 There are often circumstances where more than two profiles are useful on a profile drawing.  Two procedures are now available for Adding Profiles to a standard profile drawing.
July 1 The 2009 edition of the CAD/D Procedures & Requirements is now available. Many of the files on the download page have also been updated.
June 10 Introducing a new item for EXD drawings, Flushing Basin has been added to the Level Library, Rule files and Style Sets.
May 29 An MX model standard has been established for Legacy Alignments called Legacy.
April 24 Two new Rules have been added for ENV drawings that place the Invasive Species Type symbols.  
April 23 Introducing a new item for PRO drawings, Subgrade Text has been added to the Level Library and Rule files.  We thank the Consultant Community for suggesting useful improvments.
March 11 Information about Creating Legacy Alignments has been added.
March 6 The Conduit Linestyles (ConduitS & ConduitS-Prop) have been revised to match the changes to the Standard Symbol Sheets.  The new Index of Sheets and the new Standard Symbol Sheets are posted here.
February 13 Introducing a new item for ENV drawings, Prime Wetland has been added to the Level Library, Rule files and Style Sets.
January 15 Please welcome a new item for PDR drawings, Flushing Basin has been added to the Level Library and Rule files.
January 13 Introducing another new item for EXD drawings, Sound Wall.  The corresponding Style Sets, Level Library and Rule files have been updated.
January 12 Introducing a new item for EXD drawings.  It is Rock Outcrop Right.  This item compliments the existing rock outcrop feature, Which will assume the duty of rock outcrop left.  The corresponding Style Sets, Level Library and Rule files have been updated.

2008

October 27 Introducing the beginning of the TYP Level Library and Rules files to be used for drawing Typicals.  Feedback using these Rules is welcome.
October 17 Introducing the PCN MX Style Set, MicroStation Level Library, and GDM Rules files to be used for Proposed Contour drawings.
September 30 Introducing the beginning of the QTY Level Library and Rules files to be used for Quantity drawings.  Feedback using the QTY Rules is welcome.
September 29 More new items for XSU drawings, they are Xsect Misc Existing Muck, Subgrade Pavement, & Subgrade Sidewalk.  The corresponding Level Library and Rule files have been updated.  We Thank the Consultant Community for suggesting these items.
August 29 A new item, Ordinary High Tide has been introduced for ENV drawings.  The corresponding Level Library and Rule files have been updated.
August 8 A new item, Invasive Species has been introduced for ENV drawings.  The corresponding Level Library and Rule files have been updated.
July 22 Introducing the LOC Level Library and Rules files to be used for the development of Front Sheet Location Maps.  Check out the revised Front Sheets documentation for more details.
July 8 Some of the cross-section documents have been updated. See the Summary of CAD/D Cross-section Procedures for more details.
June 26 Recent improvements to XSU include the following;  over 50 new cross section cells, 7 new quantity items, rule level assignments corrected, and outdated items removed.  Many thanks go to Team Johnson for their various contributions
June 17 Updated Bridge Approach Rail Cells to the 30" standard.  Merged the nine rail, curb, and barrier cell libraries into three cell libraries (br_Rail, br_RailMisc, br_Misc).  Added bolts, box and strip seals, tubular post, and concrete median cells.
June 13 A report of the 2008 Bentley Conference is now available for DOT staff.
June 11 Documentation on Right-of-Way Front Sheet Notes has been added.
May 8 A new item, Curb and Drive Dimensions has been introduced for PNT drawings.  Corresponding Rule Files, and Level Library have been updated.
May 7 A new item, Temp Easement Labels has been introduced for PRW drawings.  Corresponding Rule Files, and Level Library have been updated.
April 16 A new item, Intelligent Transportation Systems has been introduced for EXD drawings.  Corresponding Style Sets, Rule Files, and Level Library have been updated.
April 9 Introducing the FSH Rule Files and there associated Level Library.  These files are designed to be used when working with all Front Sheet Drawings (FSC, FSR and FSW).
January 30 For NHDOT users, the roadway levels of the base drawing used for location maps (All.dgn) have been updated with current GIS information.
January 25 Two new items, High Point and Low Point have been introduced for Profile drawings.  The PRO Level Library and Rule Files have been updated.
January 17 The word 'Improved' would be an understatement with respect to the new DET Rule files and their associated Level Library.  All of which are now available for Detour plan development.

2007

December 12 A new item, Legacy Alignments has been introduced for the ALI drawing.  Corresponding Style Sets, Level Libraries, and Rule Files have been updated.
December 5 Two new items, Rock Excavation Area and Muck Excavation Area have been introduced for Cross Section drawings.  The XSU Level Library and Rule Files have been updated.
November 27 A new item, Easement Label has been introduced for the ERT drawing.  The ERT Level Library and Rule Files have been updated.
November 21 The Monitoring Well item has been moved from ENV to EXD drawing.  Corresponding Style Sets, Level Libraries, Rule Files and Cell Files have been updated.
October 22 Introducing the BXX Level Library and the BXX Rule Files designed for working on Cut Sheets.
August 27 Two new items, Special Aquatic Site and Vernal Pool have been introduced for ENV drawings.  SAS and VP linestyles have been developed.  Level Libraries, Rule Files, Style Sets and the MX to MicroStation mapping have also been updated.
August 22 Documentation for using models within MicroStation as part of the process for creating plan sheets has been added.
August 14 25 of 26 cells in the Utility.Cel file have been adjusted to conform to Department standards.  Corrections have been made to Level Names, Line Weights, Cell Size, and Character Orientation.  All cells checked for clarity when reduced to half scale.
July 26 A new item, Underground Cable TV has been introduced for both EXD and PUT drawings.  A CATV linestyle has been developed.  Level Libraries, Rule Files, Style Sets and the MX to MicroStation mapping have also been updated.
July 11 Most of the levels that once belonged to the Proposed Notes (PNT) drawing have been reassigned to other drawings.  New Level Libraries and Rules files (including consultant versions) have been generated for the following drawings:  ALI, PGR, PLY, PNT, PRW, PUT, & PVM.
June 11 The Station-Offset flagging cells have been adjusted to meet the Plat Law.
May 24 The following MicroStation linestyles have been created:

MHT                   (Mean High Tide)
ITS-Prop             (Intelligent Transportation System)
FiberOptic-Prop  
FiberOptic-Exist

April 26 Documentation for High Resolution Aerial Photographs has been updated to reflect the new locations for these files.
April 17 The 2007 CAD/D Procedures & Requirements are available.
March 22 A minor adjustment has been made to the process for Transferring MicroStation Right-of-Way Lines to MX. It is a note to check the chord to arc tolerance.
March 8 Information about the High Resolution Aerial Photographs in areas south and east of Concord has been added. These files are only available to NHDOT users.

2006

December 22 The process for transferring MicroStation data to MX in Transferring MicroStation Wetland Lines to MX and Transferring MicroStation Right-of-Way Lines to MX has been updated.
December 15 Documentation of the RefLev Programs has been enhanced significantly.
December 5 Sample data files for the Open Reflev program are available for your use. These files can be used as a base for a variety of drawing types. When prompted for a data file to open, NHDOT users can navigate to m:\cadd\v8workspace\standards\reflev\ and select the file for the type of plan you are working on. These file are not yet available to external users.
These files are only intended to get you started. Each project will have its own special conditions that may require adjustments to the settings stored in these files.
November 28 A more recent version of GDM's QuikChek has been deployed to the regular workspace for DOT users.  Apparently, users outside the DOT have had access to this newer version and should not need to update.
November 22 A VBA program has been developed to attach a standard list of reference files. For details about this program, see Attaching Reference Files. This will ultimately replace the NHRef Basic macro.
August 17 Now is a good time to refresh your understanding of  Level Libraries.  For those who are comfortable using Level Libraries, the Drawing Names page has been appended with all the NHDOT standard Level Library assignments.
August 8 PDF File Creation for MicroStation v8 has now been documented.
July 17 Many GDM menus have been updated, some of these menus have not been adjusted in over a year.  Please forward any comments through your Cad/d Coach.
May 22 Improvements to MX found on "Service Pack 2" have allowed Transferring MicroStation Alignments to MX a viable alternative.  
May 5 MX Study Profiles are now documented.  It details the MX Profile Viewer.  This includes the creating of the section string, displaying edge line profiles and creating MX profile drawings. 
May 5 The index of MicroStation v8 Programs has been reformatted so that macros, MDLs, and VBA programs are all listed on the same page.

2005

December 19 The process of linking Excel data to MicroStation has now been documented.
December 17 The MX and MicroStation programs for drawing and editing alignments have been  updated to handle alignments with spiral curves.  The process has not changed although all MX and MicroStation programs have been modified. The new MX add-in is called NHAlign and will need to be added to the Add-in menu. It no longer needs to be copied to the computer's hard drive which will make future updates easier to implement.

The MXRoad and ali8 style sets used in MX have been updated to provide more accurate level mapping when drawings are transferred to MicroStation.

The updated version of the DABAlign VBA program in MicroStation is called NHAlign. DABAlign is no longer available. The CurveData VBA program can add spiral curve data to the drawing.

November 7 A process for computing Earthwork and Select Material quantities from MicroStation cross-sections has been added to the documentation.
November 3 The RenameM MX Add-in is used to rename Master Alignment strings.  It eliminates the need to address the Sub-reference, the Geometry string, and it's Sub-reference.  This add-in is now included in the MX Add-In Index.

2004

May 27 An update to the MX add-in for creating alignment drawings improves a problem with text not being centered properly under the station ticks.
April 26 The EXD Style and Feature Sets have been modified to include aerial features.  This eliminates the need to draw and transfer aerial models twice (once with AIR8, then again with EXD).  The MX model defaults for aerial models should be adjusted from AIR8 to EXD.  
April 14 The 2005 edition of the NHDOT CAD/D Specifications and Requirements has been released. Many of the files available for download have been updated as well.
April 8 The row cell file has been updated to adjust the PARNUM and TAXLOT cells to scale similarly to other cells.  The rule files have also been adjusted appropriately to place the cells using their new size.  
April 7 MX major option Verat is used for the design of vertical alignments by specifying a series of intersecting straights and associated curves.  This option is now documented and posted.
