NHDOT Style Sets & Feature Sets (v8i)

A style set is a collection of styles which is used to draw a complete model or a selected part of it in plan.  Individual style sets are specific to certain model types.  Feature sets are a means of grouping strings and identifying them with a description. 

Style sets have the file extension '.pss'.  Feature sets have the file extension '.fns'.

Since all MX to MicroStation mapping is controlled in the style sets, it is mandatory to draw MX models with the proper model default for transfer between packages.

Assigning Style and Feature Sets

A default style and feature set can be assigned to any of the models in the model file.  From the Tools menu, select Model Defaults....  From the Model Defaults panel, select the model name you wish to address.  The Model Details section reports the current Style Set Name and Feature Set Name.  Select the Edit button to assign new model defaults.  Select OK  to exit the Model Defaults panel.
