Style Sets

NHDOT Style Sets & Feature Sets

A style set is a collection of styles which is used to draw a complete model or a selected part of it in plan. Individual style sets are specific to certain model types. Feature sets are a means of grouping strings and identifying them with a description.

Style sets have the file extension '.pss'. Feature sets have the file extension '.fns'.

Assigning Style and Feature Sets

A default style and feature set can be assigned to any of the models in the model file. From the Tools menu, select Model Defaults.... From the Model Defaults panel, select the model name you wish to address. The Model Details section reports the current Style Set Name and Feature Set Name. Select the Edit button to assign new model defaults. Select OK to exit the Model Defaults panel.

exd.pss	exd.fns	Used to draw existing detail in MX 2.6 that will become the MicroStation v8 base detail drawing.
mxroad.pss	mxroad.fns	Used for MX design options. Used to transfer non-survey alignments.
ply8.pss	ply8.fns	Used to draw proposed roadway detail.
prw8.pss	prw8.fns	Used to transfer proposed Right-of-Way strings between MX and MS.
pvm8.pss	pvm8.fns	Used to draw proposed pavement design.
trav.pss	trav.fns	Used to draw survey traverses.
xsu.pss	xsu.fns	To be set as the model default for cross section models. Cross sections to be transferred to MicroStation are drawn with the XS-MS macro.
