Project Explorer and Link Sets
Setting up Project Explorer for S and V drive access in the PCF fileA new variable needs to be defined in your project's PCF file to take advantage of the Project Explorer. By defining a variable for the project name and number PROJNAMENUM = TOWN/12345/ we can use this in the PROJDIR definition as well as use it to access default V and S drive information.
PROJNAMENUM = LYME/15695/
PROJDIR = $(NH_PROJECT)$(PROJNAMENUM)Cadd/
Update each PCF file that you want to use the Project Explorer on. To open, in MicroStation click on File>Project Explorer... the Explorer is set up by default with 3 link sets to choose from; Project Directory; Photos; and S Drive. The S Drive Link Set also has a link to the CADD Documentation page.
Using the project explorer will make accessing project information much easier. Other information will be made available as its uses are discovered.
Click on the + signs to expand the directory folders. To open any file shown in the Project Explorer simply double-click on it. These files can also be linked to Microstation elements. Simply right click on a picture and select Add Link to Element and then select an editable element in the drawing.
When you hover over an element with a link attached to it, it displays the link information. Right Click and select follow link to open the linked file.
