Importing Boring Data

First create a text file from your collection device in XtabYtabZtabBORING# (tab delimited XYZDescription) format:

1350899 131467 1287.9 B112

Then manipulate the file to be in X Y BORING# format (use Excel) for import. Set the text attributes that you desire before importing the text. Use the IMPORT COORDINATES tool from the XYZ Text toolbox. You will import the same file 2 times using different options.

Select these options for the first import

IMPORT: TEXT
ORDER: XYZT
VIEW: (current view)
TEXT: (empty)

Click PROCESS

For the second import, it may work better to select the BR_BORE.CEL library and select the BORSYM cell to be your ACTIVE CELL and set the cell scale (usually 500 or 600) before importing the locations. Select these options for the second import

IMPORT: CELL
ORDER: XYZ
VIEW: (current view)
CELL: BORSYM
Click PROCESS

You should now have the text for each boring (located with CC justification at the exact location) AND a boring symbol at the same point. You can use SELECT BY ATTRIBUTES (from the EDIT menu) or POWERSELECTOR to select the text elements and move them out of the way.
