- Simple Situation - No Curves , All Vertex Points
- From the Element menu, select Cells.
- Select File from the Cell Library Window.
- Select the desired Pattern Cell Library.
- Highlight the desired pattern and hit the Pattern button.
- Select Pattern Area.
Set Method to "Points"
Set Scale as necessary
Check ON "Associate Pattern"
Check OFF "Snappable Pattern"
- Trace the source elements with the Key Point Snap.
- Complex Situation - Arcs and Partial Arcs
- From the Element menu, select Cells.
- Select File from the Cell Library Window.
- Select the desired Pattern Cell Library.
- Highlight the desired pattern and hit the Pattern button.
- Manage the Active and Reference File Levels to exclude extraneous graphics.
- Select Place Fence:
Set Fence Type to "Shape"
Set Fence Mode to "Clip"
- Place the Fence Shape around the source elements defining the area to
pattern.
- Select Manipulate Fence Contents:
Set Operation to "Copy"
Set Fence Mode to "Clip"
- Copy the selected elements to the Active file.
- Reset the Fence.
- Turn the display OFF for all the Reference files.
- Update View
.
- Set the Element Attribute Class to "Construction".
- Select View Attributes, check "Constructions" ON and apply
to the working view.
- Select Create Complex Shape:
Set Method to "Manual"
Set Area to "Solid"
Set Fill Type to "None"
- Identify the copied elements to create the complex shape.
- Set the Element Attribute Class to "Primary".
- Select Pattern Area:
Set method to "Element"
Set Scale as necessary
Check OFF "Associate Pattern"
Check OFF "Snappable Pattern"
- Identify the Complex Shape just created and Accept.
- Select View Attributes, check "Constructions" OFF and apply
to all views.
