The Bureau of Municipal Highways (603) 271-2107 is responsible for the coordination of NHDOT's work with State municipalities. This includes administration of the various State highway and bridge aid programs for local streets and roads, providing technical assistance on highways to officials charged with maintaining the local road systems, and providing engineering design services for projects that have partial municipal funding.

Technical Assistance/Reference
UNH Technology Transfer Center - Run by the Civil Engineering Department at the University of New Hampshire, the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) provides a wide spectrum of highway information to municipalities on such topics as maintenance procedures, road condition analysis, and preparing work programs.
