Students Celebrate Walk-to-School Day in Andover

Officer David Hewitt of the Andover Police Department gives kindergarten students some safety trips during International Walk-to-School Day.

 

Healthy eating, combined with an active lifestyle that includes walking or bicycle riding to school, can help reduce childhood overweight and obesity. Kids who participated in the Oct. 3 walk to school were treated to orange wedges when they arrived at school.

Kids who participated in the walk to school in Andover crowded into the school gym for a celebration.

 

Juggling a busy life with healthy eating and exercise habits can be a challenge. Second grade teacher Michael Jensen kept three cartons of orange juice in the air at once.

Music teacher Paul Hubert broke out his acoustic 6-string to lead kids in a song at the end of the school assembly celebrating International Walk-to-School Day in Andover.
