Administration
B.S. Forestry, University of New Hampshire. Joined the Department in 1972. Supervises staff conducting project specific environmental documentation and consultant oversight. Specialties: Noise analysis.
Administrative Support:
Joined the Department in 1992. Oversees the Bureau of Environment's office support program and staff. Assists in the daily operation of office and the administrative functions related to Cultural Resource and Contamination contracts.
B.A. in Cultural & Historic Preservation from Salve Regina University. Joined the Department in 2008. Assists in the daily operation of office with particular attention paid to the processing and organization of environmental documentation, wetland applications and permits.

Supervises staff conducting project specific environmental documentation and consultant oversight. Specialties: Noise analysis.
- Darrel Elliott, Environmental Manager
B.S. in Environmental Biology, Plymouth State University. Joined the Department in 2006. Coordinates the Department's erosion and sedimentation control program for construction projects conducted in the southeastern portion of the state. Acts as an environmental liaison between environmental entities and construction personnel to assist in the interpretation and implementation of environmental requirements prior to and during project construction. Specialties: Wetland science and delineation

Analyzes, identifies and documents the presence of natural, cultural and socioeconomic resources impacted by construction projects. Specialties: Wetland science and delineation, noise analysis and traffic noise modeling, Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
M.S. Geology, University of Iowa, B.S. Geology, St. Lawrence University. Joined the Department in 2000. Analyzes, identifies and documents the presence of natural, cultural and socioeconomic resources impacted by construction projects. Specialties: Wildlife crossings, community impacts analysis wetland science and delineation.

Assists bureau personnel in the administration of the Department's erosion/ sedimentation control, contamination and wetland permiting programs. Oversees staff providing expertise in environmental documentation, wetlands permitting, surplus land reviews, air and noise analysis, cultural resources, hazardous materials, wildlife issues, water quality and wetlands. Specialties: Consultant oversight.
- Vacant, Cultural Resources Assistant
Assists in coordinating cultural resource investigations with an emphasis on the identification and evaluation of architectural/ historic resources, including bridges, buildings, landscapes, and historic districts. Directs the activities of the Historic Bridge Inventory.
- Mark Hemmerlein, Water Quality Program Manager
M.S. in Botany, University of Wyoming, B.S. in Forestry, University of Vermont. Joined the Department in 1995. Administers and oversees the Departments Water Quality Program. Analyzes, identifies and documents the presence water quality issues associated with construction projects and maintenance activities. Oversight of investigations and mitigative actions performed by consultants. Specialties: Stormwater management, information technology and database management, Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

hD in Anthropology, Brown University, M.A. in History Museum Training, Cooperstown Graduate Programs State University of New York, B.A. in Anthropology, Indiana State University, post graduate work, University of Wisconsin School of Architecture. Joined the Department in 2000. Administers and oversees the Department's Cultural Resources Program. Emphasis is placed on program management within the Department and with other state and federal agencies and communities. Oversight of investigations and mitigative actions, documentation review and analysis, property evaluations, and integration of cultural resources with other environmental and transportation needs.
B.A. in Earth Science from the University of New Hampshire, Licensed Professional Geologist in the State of NH. Joined the Department in 1991. Administers and oversees the department's Contamination Program. Analyzes, identifies and documents the presence of contamination and hazardous materials on properties impacted by construction projects and maintenance activities. Oversight of investigations and mitigative actions performed by consultants.
