Below are links to various aviation education resources. 

Able Flight is a training operation whose "mission is to offer people with disabilities a unique way to challenge themselves through flight training, and by doing so, to gain greater self-confidence and self-reliance."

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) takes pride in its effort to teach young people about aviation. Their resources are available at no cost to educators and AOPA members, because AOPA believes that aviation is a valuable teaching tool that can motivate students. Aviation education programs teach educators, students, and parents about the positive contributions general aviation makes to American life.

American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Academic Relations is a committee which covers the academic programs, chapters and services sponsored by AAAE. Research nationwide internships, view an aviation career video and learn about various aviation education institutions on this website.

Aviation Exploring is a youth development program centered around aviation careers. Through this program, take orientation flights in military transports, helicopters, gliders, or single-engine general aviation aircraft; visit Air Force bases, aviation museums, air shows, or FAA facilities; learn to preflight an aircraft or take pilot training ground school classes.

 

AvKids is a program designed to educate elementary school students about the benefits of business aviation to the community and the career opportunities available to them in the business aviation industry.  AvKids can help transform a child’s flights of fancy into a fun educational experience that may lead to a rewarding career path. In the course of their journey, this program hopes to reinforce the values and zest for learning that will serve future aviation professionals well throughout their lives.

Christa McAuliffe Planetarium located in Concord, New Hampshire, is a living memorial that combines Christa McAuliffe's dream of traveling through space with her dedication to teaching, and her belief that everyone should have the opportunity to "reach for the stars." Our shows blend computer generated effects, video, slides and music into an awe-inspiring experience. Education and entertainment mix in our 40 foot domed theater to delight audiences of all ages. Bring yourself, your family, your friends, or a group from your school or business to discover the wonders of the cosmos and our place in it.

Civil Air Patrol - The Civil Air Patrol functions as an official auxiliary of the United States Air Force.  The CAP provides assistance to teachers wanting information on aviation education.

Daniel Webster College has a national reputation as one of the best known and respected aviation programs in the country. It is a four-year, private, nonsectarian, co-educational residential/commuter college with a primary focus on experiental learning.

The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

Fantasy of Flight - Located midway between Tampa and Orlando in Polk City, Florida, Fantasy of Flight is an aviation-themed attraction that takes visitors back to Early Flight, World War I, World War II and beyond.

Federal Aviation Administration - The federal agency responsible for overseeing the federal airway system and airports. The Aviation Education program is vital to the success of our industry. We need to continue to introduce students to careers in aviation so they can make intelligent career decisions. By touching the lives of our students, we can ensure that the aviation industry will continue to grow and young people will have a bright future.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - NASA provides a wealth of resources that are safe, fun, and educational for your children. You can expect them to find reliable information on space-related topics, as well as games, Web quests, and even chats with NASA experts.

National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) Center for Aviation Research and Education   The NASAO Center's primary objective is to enhance the general public good through an expanded and increasingly safe air transportation system. To achieve this goal, the NASAO Center is involved in all phases of the aviation industry by conducting research; holding seminars, and conferences; publishing proceedings, books, working papers and policy papers. It also provides management training and technical assistance to all levels of government and the aviation industry.

The New England Air Museum is owned and operated by the Connecticut Aeronautical Historical Association, a private, non-profit educational institution organized in 1959. Located at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, the Museum is the largest aviation museum in New England. This educational organization is dedicated to preserving and presenting historically significant aircraft and related artifacts, engaging visitors through high-quality exhibits helping them to understand aviation technology and history and inspiring students through innovative and hands-on educational programs

New Hampshire Aviation Historical Society - Founded in 1995, the New Hampshire Aviation Historical Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve the history of aviation in New Hampshire by collecting aviation-related information and artifacts of the past, present and future..

SciJinks is a new, highly interactive web site that provides children and audiences of all ages an amazing science education opportunity.  Provided by NOAA and NASA, the web site transports visitors to the wild world of weather to learn about predicting global weather patterns.

The Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum maintains the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world. It is also a vital center for research into the history, science, and technology of aviation and space flight, as well as planetary science and terrestrial geology and geophysics.
