Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC):
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children is a food and nutrition program benefiting infants, children under 5, and pregnant, postpartum and breast feeding women with low to moderate incomes. WIC is designed to improve the health of pregnant women, infants, and young children by assuring access to health care, teaching families about good nutritional practices and providing an individually designed package of nutritious foods.
